My Sunday Blessing- Nicotine Replacement Therapy

I've been trying to quit smoking for ages now and have currently gone 5 days without smoking using nicotine patches and gum, I keep relapsing but am determined not to now. I've decided to write about NRT today because I would never be able to do it without it as everyone around me still smokes. I'm lucky to have a local stop smoking service too where I can go and get my carbon monoxide levels measured and get my gum and patches once a week, this helps too as it inspires you to not relapse when you see how much poisonous gas has gone from your blood since you quit.
I just found on Mylot a lady called Rhianna who's quitting as well and has started a blog dedicated to it called "The Quit Club" a good idea and a somewhere all us quitters can go for inspiration and to give our own tips and advice on how to cope without nicotine. Anyone who's reading this who has already quit please visit the blog (the title "Quit club" is a link if you click it) and share any tips you have. I think Rhianna is quitting without any patches or anything which is brave, though I've advised her to go and get some sort of NRT as it really helps in the first few weeks.

Here's some great tips I recievd in am email, Happy BYB Sunday.

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE. Don''t believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR. When you say, ''I love you,'' mean it.

FIVE. When you say, ''I''m sorry,'' look the person in the eye.

SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone''s dreams. People who don''t have dreams don''t have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it''s the only way to live life completely.

TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly.. No name calling.

ELEVEN. Don''t judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN! .. When someone asks you a question you don''t want to answer, smile and ask, ''Why do you want to know?''

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN. Say ''bless you'' when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN.. When you lose, don''t lose the lesson.

SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R''s: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN. Don''t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you''ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

TWENTY- ONE. Spend some time alone.

My Sunday Blessing-Cheese

I bought a new cheese board and knife set on Amazon which has prompted my blessing this week. I love cheese of all types whether it's melted on something or just on a cracker, or on it's own for that matter.

I've posted a picture of Brie which is probably my favourite cheese though it doesn't have a very strong flavour, it is creamy and I like it in a baguette with Avocado.

I also like smoked cheese there's a good one I got from Somerfield called "Bavarian smoked cheese" which is good if you like a strong flavoured cheese, I like strong cheese too especially cheddar, mild versions just don't cut it. I even found a website all about cheese , the post title is a link if you are interested.

It is amazing how many different varieties of cheese there are and how many ways you can serve and enjoy them, so here's to cheese, I'm off to have some now

My Sunday Blessing - Books

It's been ages since I've posted for blog your blessings Sunday, sorry about that I have been very busy with the other things I do on the internet.

This week I want to talk about books, I've always loved books from the picture books I had when I was a young child unable to read to the books without any (or very few) pictures I read now. Reading helps me relax and helps me to keep using my imagination bringing the characters to life in my mind. Many times I've stayed up till the early hours finishing a good book, saying to myself "I'll go to sleep after the next chapter" but reading on just the same. It's a great way to escape boredom or sadness and a good book can make you laugh and cry. Let's hope the internet and films never make us forget the tradition of sitting down with a good book and just reading.

I've just finished a couple of good books "The Hog Father" By Terry Pratchett and "The Death And Life Of Charlie Mccloud" byBen Sherwood so I will writing some more book reviews for you soon too Thanks for reading.

My Sunday blessing- The Moon.

Last nights Lunar eclipse made me think about the moon and how much it means to me as A Wiccan so I decided to devote this weeks Sunday Blessing to it. I got several pictures of the eclipse they aren't all very clear but I'd like to share them anyway so you know what the eclipse looked like from my part of the world.

This is the moon before the eclipse began quite a clear one I thought.

This is the moon at about 9.30 pm the bottoms starting to disappear now, the Camera moved a bit making the picture a bit weird.

By 9.50 you could hardly even see the moon.

But By 12.50am you could see the moon again, I couldn't catch the redness you could see about now on camera though I tried.

So here's to the moon and Happy Blog Your Blessing Sunday, welcome to all the new guys too I see the blog roll has grown i look forward to reading your posts. Sorry I missed last week as well I was feeling quite uninspired sadly.

My Sunday Blessing - A Kitchen Blessing.

A Kitchen is a great place to practice magic as it contains nearly all the four elements and it is not difficult to make it into a magical workplace, here is a simple blessing you can speak in your kitchen to help.

A WITCH'S KITCHEN BLESSING
Blessed be this Kitchen of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth.
Be warmed by the sacred light of the Goddess and the Horned One.
May all that is created here by means both magical and mundane bring
nourishment, healing, and sustenance, and cause harm to none.
With love and peace, with joy and magic, be now and always filled.
So mote it be!

Blessing by Gerina Dunwich

Happy BYB Sunday.

My Sunday Blessing - Music

Music is important to me and has got me through some rough times in my life, listening to music can be great healer or bring back painful memories it is a powerful force. there are songs that remind me of people I once knew who are gone, and songs that remind me of people I still know.

Life would be so different if we didn't have music, a world without music is unimaginable to me my earliest memories are all of songs. Members of my family are musicians, my mother sang the Blues and my dad wishes he was Bob Dylan :) . I'm learning to play the guitar now myself and have been a singer for a few years, soon I'll be able perform at least one song completely on my own ( I do do some songs unaccompanied anyway, but it will be great to be able accompany myself on guitar).
