My Sunday Blessing- Having so much I don't know what to write about.

Each week I've been finding it harder to think of something to write about for my Sunday Blessing without repeating. When I first started writing for BYB Sunday it made me think of the saying "count your blessings" and that's what I have been doing every Sunday writing about something I feel blessed for having because others do not, and it seems I've run out for the time being. It almost makes me feel guilty I have so much I can't even pin point one thing every week anymore and write about it.

So all I can say is I feel blessed to be warm (reasonably) and dry not hungry and with my own Internet connection able to participate in this weekly event.

My Sunday Blessing-Cheese

I bought a new cheese board and knife set on Amazon which has prompted my blessing this week. I love cheese of all types whether it's melted on something or just on a cracker, or on it's own for that matter.

I've posted a picture of Brie which is probably my favourite cheese though it doesn't have a very strong flavour, it is creamy and I like it in a baguette with Avocado.

I also like smoked cheese there's a good one I got from Somerfield called "Bavarian smoked cheese" which is good if you like a strong flavoured cheese, I like strong cheese too especially cheddar, mild versions just don't cut it. I even found a website all about cheese , the post title is a link if you are interested.

It is amazing how many different varieties of cheese there are and how many ways you can serve and enjoy them, so here's to cheese, I'm off to have some now

My Sunday blessing- my ipod.

This isn't a picture of my actual ipod but it is green and an ipod nano, I've also got the speaker dock my dad bought them for me last Christmas and I'm only just getting round to using them. When I first got the ipod somehow the language got set to Japanese and I lost interest in it. But now I have discovered to reset the language so when it's charged I'll be away and be able to play all my music wherever I want.

It is amazing that I can put all the music on my computer onto such a small thing and take it anywhere I want, though it will mainly just go to my living room at least we won't need a huge extension lead. This ipod is out dated already and there is a next generation one out now it's amazing how fast technology moves I certainly can't keep up with it.

My Sunday Blessing-Spring

This week I'm blogging about the spring as Beltane is nearly upon us and we are having an unseasonably warm spring this year. My Wisteria has flowered really well this year we normally only get one flower but this year there are three.

I also bought a rose and have planted it in a pot it's a Cambridge rose so It will have round pink flowers, not looking too impressive yet, but better than when I bought it it came in a bag with no soil.

Hopefully I'll get some flowers later in the year to show you, I've also got some pots of miniature daffodils that have flowered, and am waiting for all my tulips and lilies to flower so I can photograph them. I love this time of year when everything is starting to grow and flower again and you can go outside without suffering the cold.

Sorry I've missed the Sunday Blessing a few times I've been very busy I'll try to remember to do it from now on I can see the blog roll has grown a lot so welcome to all the new participants.

My Sunday Blessing-Nature

the photo above is of some fields near my home I like to walk in, being part of a religion that worships nature makes me very aware of the cycle of the year and how important it all is to our lives. the cycle of the year effects us all whether we're pagan or not and living in harmony with it is very important, it's clear we don't with the rise of things like seasonally effective disorder that we are not.

The beauty and power of nature never ceases to amaze me and will go on amazing me till my death I'm sure. If more people were as involved with nature as pagans the world would be a better and healthier place for all of us and the planet would survive much longer I'm sure. preserving the delicate balance between nature and technology is proving hard with Nature coming out the loser it seems. I have my own garden now so have a chance to grow things and really take part in privacy so I feel very blessed.

My Sunday Blessing-The Internet.

Life was very different before I discovered the internet, the world was smaller place and I had few friends who didn't live near me. I wasn't being as creative as I should have been, I wasn't writing enough, and I only had books if I needed information.

Now I talk to people all over the world who I share interests with and take advice from and give advice to. In times when I've been really low and alone I wasn't alone because I had my computer and people to talk to who were hundreds and even thousands of miles away from me to comfort me. I have a few old internet friends I need to look up again who I haven't spoken to for a long time, if they read this blog then hi, I hope you are OK and I'll get in touch soon.

It's not only the social aspects that make the internet such a blessing it's also the vast amount of information you can access in a few clicks on any subject you desire. somewhere someone has written something about everything, you just have to find it and bookmark it.

My Sunday Blessing - My Guitar.

The Guitar is A Honer Spanish classical acoustic that has been in my family since the mid 80's and is more than 30 years old. You can see the capo I use in the picture too, it's also very old, and a friend said when he saw it on the table it looked like some sort of medieval torture device I was inclined to agree, as it actually does.

At least 3 people have learned to play the Guitar on it the varnish has worn off the neck where C G and D are as a result. It has a nice sound and is light to have hanging around your neck for hours while you practice, It's getting quite famous now as there are a few photo's of me around holding it :).

It's nice to learn to play on a guitar that has such a history related to my own family as it does, when I get good I'll qualify to have a hand me down that can hold steel strings the only downfall of this guitar is it can't, the neck would bend with the tension. This isn't such a bad thing for a learner like me as I would slice my fingers to shreds learning on steel strings. I've been playing it loads this week trying to Learn "Stranger To Himself" by Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention in time for Tuesday, I might do it as well at the rate I'm going so wish me luck.

My blogging schedule will be returning to normal after Tuesday, if you need any info about Goddesses and Herbs there's a new plug in installed in my left side bar to give you the herb and Goddess of the day while I get my blogging act together.

My Sunday Blessing - My Hands

My hands are very important to me and having full use of them is a blessing to me, I like to play musical instruments and sew and knit and make other home crafts, without full use of my hands I couldn't do any of these things (or would at least have great difficulty).

I'd even have trouble blogging without the full use of my hands unless I had voice recognition software to type for me, if you think about it there thousands of things we couldn't do easily without our hands and full use of them. I have friends who through brain damage or arthritis cannot use there hands fully anymore they have trouble doing basic tasks people with full use of their hands take for granted like peeling vegetables and even picking up any object. I admire their adaptability and how they manage without this thing we take for granted, and the many inventions created to help them with day to day tasks.

If you want take part in blog your blessings Sunday look here for more info and to be added to the blogroll.
