My Sunday Blessing- My New Washer Dryer

My new washer dryer was a Christmas present from my father, I'm using it for the first time today though it arrived on the third. I am poor as a church mouse you see and had to wait for some money to buy washing powder and enough electricity in the meter to run it. As they say in the Guinness advert good things come to those who wait so I waited patiently and sure enough some money came.

It's the first washing machine I've ever called my own and I've always relied on launderettes and other peoples machines until now, so this really is blessing to me. As you can see it has futuristic looking flashing lights, and it's also quite quiet which you'll have to take my word for. It just about fits into the corner next to the cooker so there's no longer a huge washing machine shaped gap to fill in my Kitchen.

My Sunday Blessing - My Cats

This Sunday I'm going to blog about my cats, who I was blessed with accidentally never wanting cats really ever before.

Tabitha I got as a kitten when she was about 8 weeks old, a family's cat had had a litter and they were giving away the kittens. When I got her she was covered with fleas and had ear mites, the Cats Protection League who I took her to for treatment said she could have died from anemia as a result of all the fleas on her tiny body.

I spoilt her terribly and now she thinks she rules the house, scratching and biting me when she doesn't get her own way, she may look pretty and cute but don't let that fool you she is lethal! She is also very loving when she wants to be however and I would never give her up.

Gizmo was my second cat and I really did get her by accident, someone upstairs from me when I used to live in flats got her for the guy across the road. He however already had a kitten by the time she arrived, so the guy who bought her over who already had a dog and absolutely no desire for a cat didn't know what to do. I offered to take her for one night saying I would take her to be re-homed by cats protection the next day as I already had one cat.

When I took her in my flat I realized what a lovely affectionate cat she was and kept her however and she's lived with me and Tabitha ever since.

Both of them are the same age though from completely different litters, and Tabitha fights with Gizmo where she was here first obviously thinking she runs the house. My life would not be the same without them and I do count them as a blessing just as I do the people who enter my life.

My Sunday Blessing-Holidays

This week I've decided to blog about holidays as my Sunday Blessing, I have just got back from a trip to London for the Britblog meeting, it went well I met a lot of new people and had a great time. Stupidly I forgot to take my camera to the actual meeting so have no photo's myself of the actual event :( . Luckily Darren Straight did remember his and documented the event in photographs well here.

Robert also took Photographs you can find on his flickr page, and you can find all the photo's taken and uploaded to the flickr Britblog photo group, more details and a full list of every on the Britblog Blog.

On Sunday morning we went to Covent Garden where we saw a mime dressed as Dr Jekyll, I was so amused I insisted Vinny take a photo. I've posted the picture with the post, it's not a very good photo of me I'm laughing (and also hate photo's of myself) but the mime looks good and I was impressed by his idea of wrapping him in his coat ( he communicated it to me without saying a word too.) You just wouldn't see that sort of thing in my home town it takes a trip to London to find good street theater.

Holidays help us relieve the stress of everyday life, meet new people and experience new places, what more can you ask for out of life really?

I have a couple more pictures of my trip to London I will upload to flickr shortly.

My Sunday Blessing - A Front Door to Call My Own

This Sunday I'm blogging about the blessing of having my own front door, it may be a bit old and flimsy but I can still close and lock it at night. Many people do not have a front door to call there own and have to live on the street so it is indeed a blessing to have a house.

My house is cold in winter but it has all the rooms I need and can be cosy when I have enough electricity to heat it. My cats enjoy living in a house more than did a flat too and it is closer to the town which isn't always such a blessing, especially not on a Friday night when all the drunks are piling out of the pubs, but I can't grumble usually.

if you want to join the Sunday blessing blogroll click on the post title and leave a comment saying you want to join and blog your Sunday blessing each Sunday simple.

Sorry I missed last weeks too guys I was very busy.

My Sunday Blessing

Blue Panther has come up with a great idea what I thought was a great idea to blog about something good in your life every Sunday. If you take part you have to add blogroll to your blog are also added to the same blogroll, go here to find the code to add to your blog and more detailed information.

This Sunday I am going to blog about living by the coast and the fun I had yesterday walking my friends dog on the beach, I also saw a beautiful rainbow which I managed to photograph. Many people are not so lucky as to live right by the sea like I do and I often forget how privileged I am to be able to go and walk on the beach whenever I feel like it, well as long as the tide isn't in. Here are some pictures of my friends dog and the aforementioned Rainbow on the Beach at Ryde.
