My Progress With The Vegetables So Far.

I've been so busy with other things I haven't had time to photograph the progress my vegetables are making for my blog until today, and they all look a bit wind swept so it probably wasn't the best one for it. Above you can see my marrow fat peas which are growing very fast now I keep having to add new sticks every couple of days.

And here are two of my Tumbling Tom plants which are starting to flower now so I will hopefully see some tomatoes soon.

This quite forlorn looking patch is where my cauliflowers will go, and you can see the "Gardeners Delight" Tomatoes along the wall at the back, they still seem very small though, I've just started feeding them so hopefully they will get bigger. At the front of the bed there are some more of the tumbling tom plants and a chilli plant in containers, the chilli survived from last year where I kept indoors and is now flowering up again so hopefully will produce some more chilli's.

I'm very busy with the arrangements for the renaissance festival this week, I'm going to be doing tarot readings in the enchanted realm so I need to get some practice in as I haven't done it for a while. My costume isn't ready so I may end up making what was meant to be a dress into a skirt and wearing a blouse with it.

Article Review- "Classical myths in medieval and renaissance art"

In preparing for the Isle Of Wight Renaissance Festival I found this article called “Classical Myths in Medieval And Renaissance Art” by Chuck Kay which I’m finding very interesting.
It talks about how Christian and Pagan themes overlapped in Art in the third and fourth centuries, apparently in the cemetery underneath St. Peter's Basilica the Vatican there is a mosaic of Jesus showing the attributes of the sun God Apollo. He’s depicted ascending in the chariot of the sun, with the suns rays and the cross emanating from his head.
Pagan mythological figures also survived through astronomy and astrology apparently with surprising transformations, but nonetheless they are represented in manuscripts on astronomy and and astrology through the Dark ages.
The article goes on to talk about many works of art containing these figures all over the world and discusses how they were used to plot the constellations we still know today which I found fascinating, though the artists who drew them were more interested in the figure they represented than astrological accuracy so they were often inaccurate.
A fascinating article for anyone researching the art and mythology of this period click here to read the full article and browse others in the same category.

Web Hosting Geeks

I’ve just found a Website called “Web Hosting Geeks” that reviews and allows it’s users to rate and review Web Hosting services so people can always find the best one straight away. You can browse the Web Hosts under many different of categories including multiple domain hosting, dedicated server hosting and even Green Web Hosts which have apparently become more popular and common over the past few years.
Some of Web Hosts in this section have started off Green and others have gradually made the switch by introducing more environmentally friendly practices like recycling office waste and using Bio Fuels for heating, eventually they update their data centres so the servers run off alternative energy like Solar wind and geothermal sources, so you can do your bit for the planet even when choosing a web host these days.
The web hosts are ranked by their price and value ratio, reliability, uptime, key features and bonus features, as well as the quality of the customer support, and of course the user feedbacks of real people, they also take into account any web hosting awards they have won. So I highly recommend the site if you are looking for a new web host it’s easy to navigate and has a number of categories for whatever combination of different features you need.

Flu Fashion N95 Masks

There’s a new trend just in time for Swine Flu Season, “Flu Fashion N95 Masks” so no more of those ugly disposable masks for us, apparently they are designed to stop the wearer spreading the flu rather than to prevent them catching it anyway.
They even come in a variety of prints and colours including faux fur and actually contain a respirator mask that really filters out the particles that can give you the flu so they actually offer you real protection without making you look like a member of the cast of some post apocalyptic disaster movie. They fit closely to your face to ensure air is inhaled through the filter to ensure complete protection, and you'll look cool. For more information on the masks themselves Click here to view mask designs.

What will they think of next?
