Nancy's Crazy Adventures

Each week I've been finding it harder to think of something to write about for my Sunday Blessing without repeating. When I first started writing for BYB Sunday it made me think of the saying "count your blessings" and that's what I have been doing every Sunday writing about something I feel blessed for having because others do not, and it seems I've run out for the time being. It almost makes me feel guilty I have so much I can't even pin point one thing every week anymore and write about it.

So all I can say is I feel blessed to be warm (reasonably) and dry not hungry and with my own Internet connection able to participate in this weekly event.

7.I have a rare field of vision problem that means I can't see anything below my nose without looking down. To demonstrate hold your hand out in front of your eye's and without looking down to follow it lower your hand, you should be able to see it till it's by your chest or stomach, mine vanishes below my nose if I do the same thing.

8.There's nothing they can do about my field of vision problem only one of many eye specialists I've seen have ever seen it before, and that was in only one other person.

9.I used to be a pentecostal Christian and was baptized by John Anderson from the progressive rock group "Yes's" brother Tony Anderson.

10.My full name is Nancy Rowina Patricia Farrell after one grandfather who was called Patrick and the other who was known as Roly though his real name was Edward so Rowina should be Edwina.

A man in Wisconsin USA shot one of his family's pet goats when his wife refused to bring home beer. Yet Cannabis remains illegal while alcohol is legal nearly all over the western world, it bemuses me.
This story sounds particularly horrible for the goat too:

"After his wife arrived home, she and the daughter heard four gunshots and went outside and found one of the two goats with its entrails hanging out, authorities said. They said that goat had to be killed later by a sheriff's deputy."

What a horrible thing to happen and all because a man couldn't have his beer apparently, people really need think harder about what a burden alcohol really is on society and what can be done about it.

I bought a new cheese board and knife set on Amazon which has prompted my blessing this week. I love cheese of all types whether it's melted on something or just on a cracker, or on it's own for that matter.

I've posted a picture of Brie which is probably my favourite cheese though it doesn't have a very strong flavour, it is creamy and I like it in a baguette with Avocado.

I also like smoked cheese there's a good one I got from Somerfield called "Bavarian smoked cheese" which is good if you like a strong flavoured cheese, I like strong cheese too especially cheddar, mild versions just don't cut it. I even found a website all about cheese , the post title is a link if you are interested.

It is amazing how many different varieties of cheese there are and how many ways you can serve and enjoy them, so here's to cheese, I'm off to have some now

My friend R.E from "Sacred Space" introduced me to blog today that posts a weekly question for wiccan or witch craft bloggers to answer on their blogs. I think this is a fantastic idea as writing a blog about one subject as I do makes it challenging to come up with a quality post every day which results in posts where there is just a link or quiz. This weeks question is:

Why do you participate in Witches Weekly? Do you feel that it benefits your blog in any way? Do you feel others could benefit from participating in Witches Weekly?

I've already partly answered it Witches Weekly will help me to post more relevant content to my blogs topic regularly, and others with pagan blogs could benefit in the same way. It's also a good way meet other bloggers of a similar mind set who's blogs you can read and who will read your blog , so it's a good thing all round really I think.

for a couple of years now I've had a message board on the subject of the British comedy band "The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band" it's grown since it started and the members have helped me give the place a whole new look. I'm so proud of everyones work and would love to give them all a big pat on the back, I designed the new background on the message board (click here to see it) but all the banners and the logo's were designed by my members.

I recently started a home page to consolidate all the links photo's and information we have collected and make it easier to access click here to visit it.

I'm also sharing some of the bootlegs I have found over the years on the first page but will never be sharing any official releases so please don't ask.

It's Called "Ambrosia's Graphics Collection" And it has a lovely page of purple graphics I've been using, you also don't have to link to her if you are saving the graphics to your computer and hosting them yourself. They are ideal for Myspace and Pagan websites it's one of the best collections of Pagan Graphics I've found in a while.

I've still managed a post every day so far for NaBloPoMo and today I even gave my flat a much needed clean, changed the cat litter tray, and went to the super Market as well. So now I'm just relaxing with a cup of tea and writing this post while Browsing those lovely Purple Graphics, and please remember to click the "pagan 100" button and the "pagan Blogs" Button in the site support section in the top left hand corner to vote for me if you want to.

I've used blog explosion for years and found it a good way to get blog visitors and is also has some useful tools like their pinging service.

I've even recently invited some friends to join, but found out new member sign ups have been locked. So I went to the forums and I find out there is a huge backlog of blogs to be approved and the owners are being unresponsive to other staff who are asking to be put on the approval team.

And it gets worse, apparently the owners seem happy to let this carry on the way it's going as long as they make money from the Ad's!

So blog explosion members if you are concerned about this I urge you to go to the members forums and join if you haven't yet, if you are a member please go to this topic Pigging BE as a cash cow? and When will new sign ups be enabled again? to register your disgust with the state of affairs.

Last night while browsing the web I found 3 great sites, two of them pagan and one regarding cats.

The first is "Pagan 100", it's a top site for Pagan Bloggers or web masters, if you could click the little green banner then click "click to proceed" before you leave you'll be voting or my blog which would be a great help :) And if you have a pagan themed site or blog add it.

The second is a top site exclusively or pagan bloggers called "blogging between the worlds" you could also click on the little purple banner saying "pagan blogs" it will register a vote for me too which will be helpful :) , and of course if you have a pagan blog add it. This site was started by RE who authors "The Sacred Space" a beautiful pagan blog well worth visiting.

The third a cat related site is wonderful it's like myspace or your cats, it's called catster and you can make a badge o cat photo's using it that works like a Flickr badge I tried adding the badge last night but it made my blog load so slow I removed it. I think it may have been to do with blogger rather than the badge however so I'm going to re do it and try adding it again in a minute beneath my Flickr Badge.

I'm not having too much trouble thinking of a post every day I have some old segments I can revive like goddess of the week herb of the week and the new crystal of the week, so I shouldn't get too stuck.

I know I've written about IMVU before on here but I'm really enjoying it now and have bought a castle which is lovel and has a secret entrance I also bought some nice furniture with it too. I also bought a curvier avatar (The one you are issued with to begin with is a bit of a stick insect). It's really fun chatting in 3D and you can make yourself look any way you want you can even get wings etc.

This isn't a picture of my actual ipod but it is green and an ipod nano, I've also got the speaker dock my dad bought them for me last Christmas and I'm only just getting round to using them. When I first got the ipod somehow the language got set to Japanese and I lost interest in it. But now I have discovered to reset the language so when it's charged I'll be away and be able to play all my music wherever I want.

It is amazing that I can put all the music on my computer onto such a small thing and take it anywhere I want, though it will mainly just go to my living room at least we won't need a huge extension lead. This ipod is out dated already and there is a next generation one out now it's amazing how fast technology moves I certainly can't keep up with it.

I thought I'd new segment as I already sometimes do Goddess of the week and herb of the week, so here's the first crystal of the week.

One of my favourite crystals is Citrine, I recently bought a new Citrine cluster and have a raw point I use too that I keep on my desk most of the time.

It’s good for creativity and attracting wealth, especially when placed in your wealth corner (furthest left hand corner from our front door). It’s also a powerful cleanser so powerful it never needs cleansing as it cleanses itself which is handy, and it’s good for cleansing the chakra’s particularly the solar plexus and naval.

It’s great for raising self esteem confidence and enhancing creativity it also helps you develop a positive attitude. It’s also good for improving concentration and relieving depression and phobia’s, it holds the power of the sun and just generally lifts you when it is around.

Here's another Book review since I haven't done for ages.


I bought this book last year and have found it invaluable it’s by Judy Hall an internationally known author astrologer psychic and healer. Published by Godsfield it is one of a series of mind body and spirit books also including “The Yoga Bible” and the Dream Bible” among other titles.
Over 200 crystals are listed with beautiful clear colour photo’s of every one making it easy to identify any crystals you may have you can’t identify and there is also lot’s of information about each crystal.
It tells you how to cleanse and store your crystals as well as how to use them for meditation and for healing. At the back it has a glossary and index of ailments so you can find the right crystal for your needs easily. There is also a useful quick reference section telling you about crystals correspondences to the zodiac, chakra’s and aura’s plus how to make gem remedies
It is definitely the best book on Crystals I’ve ever bought and probably the only one I’ll ever need I highly recommend it, some of the photo’s are breath taking and I refer to it time and time again when choosing crystals for specific purposes definitely a very useful addition to anyone's library.

I read on a Forum I moderate that the breast cancer awareness site is having trouble getting enough clicks to donate at least one mammogram a day to disadvantaged women, so I thought I would start NaBloPoMo with a post about them.
All you have to do is visit the site (post title is a link) and click the pink box once a day, it's free and you are helping people in desperate need of mammograms who wouldn't get them otherwise. So please visit the site and give it click it only takes a second and you are helping vastly.
