White House Denies Bush God Claim

I found a story on The BBC news site about a show they are producing where someone claims George Bush said he invaded Iraq because God told him to.

The White House have denied that Bush said this but if it is true I would not be surprised, there is a complete transcript of the statements he has supposed to have made and when and where on the BBC news site, the post title is a link.

It's very believable he did say the things they say he said and I think it's ludicrous they are denying it, he spouts Christian rubbish all the time in speech's. I think this is a very stupid thing for the American President to do, as it alienates immediately anyone listening who is not a Christian.

Absolute nonsense!!!

If you're an American get used to hearing things about God and the Bible, it hasn't hurt you in 230 years...what's the big deal now?

Get over it"

I'm not American, and isn't there something in the American constitution about religion not effecting affairs of state?

. Nancy Whats wrong with being a Christian? Might do you a world of good. But President (yer show some respect) Bush is a bit way over the top but do we know he really said what he is reported to have said- I suspect Nabil al Shaath may have miisunderstood the Texan drawl.

I'd just like to say as well, I have nothing against Christianity, I just don't think it's right he lets his religious beliefs effect his decisions so much. And I'm also pretty sure there is an amendment to the constitution or it was always in the constitution that American leaders shouldn't let religion effect state matters.

I'm going to research a new post about this I think...

I've absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Bush said these things - whether privately or not.
The fact is that he sees himself as some kind of Christian avenger whom God has appointed to deal with the 'Muslim threat'.
This man is the greatest danger to world peace since Hitler - I'm not suggesting that he has the same beliefs as Hitler, but if you are going to start a World War, does it make much difference what you believe when you start it?
